Interlibrary Loan Services

ILLiad, InterLibrary Loan Internet Accessible Database, allows you to request books, journal articles, proceedings, or government documents, not owned by Pace University Library.
-Benefits of using ILLiad are:
  • Registration is required only once to access ILLiad.
  • Providing your email and mailing address, ensures prompt notification and accurate delivery of materials when they arrive in the library.
  • ILLiad allows you to track the status of your requests.
  • ILLiad allows you to view a list of items you have requested in the past.
-For detailed information about ILLiad, access ILLiad Services FAQ. Be certain to read the Copyright Notice as the library and university will not be held accountable for the misuse of materials provided.
-When registering in the ILLiad system be sure to select Distance Ed Students from the "Status" drop-down menu to identify yourself. This ensures that materials requested are delivered via email, fax, or regular mail. On-campus students pick up their materials at the delivery location specified.

Books

Books NOT owned by the Pace University Library may be requested through Interlibrary Loan.
-Once you enter your Username and Password, click the Request a Book button to request books, entire conference proceedings, microfilm reels, and microfiche.
-Fill all the necessary information in the Loan Request form and then click Submit Request. NOTE: It will take time for a lending library to send us the materials you need, and then for us to send it to you. It could take up to three weeks for an item to get to you, from the time of your original request to the time you receive it. So be sure to take this into consideration when making your Interlibrary Loan book requests. Lending circulation periods and renewals are controlled by the lending library.
-A mailing label will be sent to you with the book - use this label to return the book to the Pace University Library before the due date to prevent fines on your library record. We will return the book to the lending library for you. We strongly recommend that you use U.S. Postal Service Priority Mail to return the book. Returned books must be insured for $100 in case of loss.
Materials located at other institutions can be requested for you by Pace librarians.  In instances when materials are needed immediately, you may check with your local public library or a university library near you for items not owned by the Pace University Library. It may be quicker to obtain items from a local source rather than going through the Library's Interlibrary Loan Service. Remember, if you cannot find an item at a location near you or if it is simply not convenient for you to do so, our librarians are here to help.

Articles

Articles from journals, magazines and newspapers NOT owned by the Pace University Library may be requested using Interlibrary Loan.
-Fill in the specific information for the article you are requesting.
- ILLiad electronic delivery option allows you to receive requested articles online. The requestor is notified that the requested article is now available for viewing. An article may be viewed for a period of 30 days after which it becomes inaccessible. To take advantage of this feature, be certain to select Yes for the entry, "Would you prefer Electronic Delivery if Possible?" in the New User Registration for ILLiad form.
-Click the Submit Information button to submit your request.
