  2. Internal process calendar - this is an outline of some of the significant administrative processes and events that take place throughout the year.
    1. Fall move in: Labor Day weekend
    2. Fall occupancy verification One: during the first few days of the fall semester, only critical room transfer requests will be permitted, as we work to verify our occupancy; once that process is completed, we will accelerate the room transfer request process
    3. Fall occupancy verification Two: a second, comprehensive occupancy verification process will take place during the fourth week of classes, at which time all residents will be required to sign a form verifying the room they are living in and to which they are assigned
    4. Fall Health and Safety Checks: two or three times during the fall semester, the RA staff will visit each room to ensure that all residents are adhering to health and safety related policies within their room
    5. Fall and Thanksgiving Breaks: the residence halls remain open for short breaks during the fall semester, although community desks may close or have shorter hours, and guest privileges may be suspended
    6. Fall check out (Maria's Tower and Fulton): Halls close on last day of final exams; residents check out 24 hours after their last final or 5pm on the days halls close.
    7. Winter break: the residence halls are closed during the winter break, and the student housing fee does NOT cover the winter break; students wishing to remain in the residence halls for the winter break must complete a special winter break housing application, and are subject to an additional fee
    8. Spring move in (Maria's Tower and Fulton): Sunday before Spring semester begins
    9. Spring occupancy verification One: during the first few days of the spring semester, only critical room transfer requests will be permitted, as we work to verify our occupancy; once that process is completed, we will accelerate the room transfer request process
    10. Spring occupancy verification Two: a second, comprehensive occupancy verification process will take place during the fourth week of classes, at which time all residents will be required to sign a form verifying the room they are living in and to which they are assigned
    11. Spring Health and Safety Checks: two or three times during the spring semester, the RA staff will visit each room to ensure that all residents are adhering to health and safety related policies within their room
    12. Room selection: students returning to housing for the following academic year must submit a deposit and application in March, and participate in online room selection in April
    13. Spring check out: Halls close on last day of final exams; residents check out 24 hours after their last final or 5pm on the days halls close
    14. Summer housing: typically begins 2 or 3 weeks after the close of the spring semester; students wishing to remain in the residence halls for the summer must complete a special summer housing application, and are subject to an additional housing fees
