Biography:

Since 2000, Jane Kinney-Denning has worked as a professor and as the director of internships and corporate outreach for the MS in Publishing program. In this capacity she works with students to help them secure internships and guides them as they write their masters thesis. Beyond teaching, she reaches out to major corporations, alumni, key publishing professionals and human resources managers in order to further develop relationships between the publishing program and the publishing industry.

Prior to her academic career, she worked as a Senior Acquisitions Editor for the scientific and professional presses of CRC Press and Van Nostrand Reinhold in the area of Environmental Science. In addition, from 1989 to 1994, she was a senior editor at HarperCollins acquiring books for the academic market in the areas of composition and literature. Her publishing career began however, as a sales representative for Little, Brown Publishers, an experience that she believes really gave her the broadest understanding of the business. Jane has a Master of Arts degree in Italian Literature from the University of Wisconsin, Madison and is the proud mother of three young children.
