Affiliated Centers and Organizations

  • The Public Administration Department is a member of the National Association of Schools of Public Affairs and Administration (NASPAA). The Department and its affiliate, the Michaelian Institute of Public Policy and Research, are also affiliated with the New York State and Westchester Municipal Managers Associations, the New York State Government Finance Officers Association and the Lower Hudson Valley Chapter of the American Society for Public Administration (ASPA). The department serves as a secretariat for two of these organizations, and the organizations provide scholarships, opportunities for internships, job contacts, and other resources helpful to M.P.A. students. The department maintains a chapter of Pi Alpha Alpha, the National Honor Society for the field of public affairs and administration.
  • The Edwin G. Michaelian Institute for Public Policy and Management works closely with the University’s MPA Program in placing student interns with governmental and not-for-profit agencies.
  • The Center for Health Care Policy, Education and Research works closely with the University’s MPA Program in assisting students with finding internship opportunities in health care and related institutions.
  • Students in the University’s MPA Program, particularly those specializing in non-profit, can benefit from the workshops offered through the United Way-Pace University Wilson Center Not-for-Profit Management Center.
