Dyson College’s Gotham House offers art students the opportunity to become part of a social network of students with similar interests. Two galleries on campus display contemporary art as well as student and faculty work.
BA in Art History
The BA in Art History program provides you with a strong undergraduate education in art history, art connoisseurship, and art theory. Courses introduce the major periods in the history and development of Western art, as well as the arts of Latin America, Africa, and Asia. Seniors complete their degree with two advanced seminars. Making maximum use of the city's resources, classes regularly visit museums and galleries where you examine works of art on a firsthand basis. You may combine your academic studies with practical experiences in the field through museum and art gallery internships, which may be completed for credit towards the major.
